Biography

Evelyn was born in 1911. She was the daughter of Ross Henry and Tillie Johnson. She passed away after 1920.

RESEARCH NOTES:

• The last census record I have found for her is with her 1st husband in the 1930 census, in Wallace, NE, (enumeration date 01APR1930), when she was 18 years old.
• Evelyn's 1st husband married a second time on 28JUN1937, and appears in the 1940 census with that 2nd wife, so Evelyn was apparently divorced by then.
• As has previously been implied, Evelyn has not been found in the 1940 and 1950 census. It is known, however, That she was married at least once between her first and last husbands, to a man whose surname was "Hall".
• Evelyn's ex-husband's parents are listed a few households after him in the 1940 census, and their household includes a granddaughter, Carol G VanDeberg, aged 9, born in NE. Carol Gloria Van DeBerg was born 19NOV1930, in Perkins County, Nebraska, daughter of Ernest. This is almost 8 months after Evelyn and Ernest are listed as husband and wife in the 1930 census, so - assuming Carol was a legitimate birth - Carol must also be Evelyn's daughter. Carol eventually moved to Phoenix, AZ, and FindAGrave has that that's where Evelyn died - it makes sense that if Carol is Evelyn's only child, that Evelyn would move near Carol after her husband (Jesse) died.
• Evelyn moved to Chino, CA by JUL1984, and that's where Jesse died in 1992.
• Later, she apparently moved to Phoenix, AZ (where her daughter lived) and died there in 1999. This place of death is given on her FindAGrave memorial, #100744047. That memorial also gives her full name as "Evelyn Verda Geisler", although the author of that memorial apparently did not know her maiden name.
