Biography

Rachel A. (Henton) Edwards was born in 1793 in Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, daughter of George H Henton and Mary (Rigney) Henton.[1]

Rachel married Griffith Edwards on 10 Mar 1812 in Harrison County, Indiana.[1] Their children were:

  1. Isaac N. Edwards (1817 - 1860)
  2. Sarah Miller Edwards (~1820 - 1897)
  3. Mary N (Edwards) Gilmore (~1821 - )
  4. Nancy Jane (Edwards) Doughty (~1822 - )
  5. Elizabeth Ann Edwards (1827 - )
  6. Rachel Amanda (Edwards) Van Meter (1831 - )
  7. William G. Edwards (1833 - )
  8. Daniel M. Edwards (1836 - ).

In 1820, Rachel (26-44, est. 28) and Griffith (26-44, est. 30) Edward were living in Washington County, Indiana with children Isaac (0-10, est. 3) and Sarah (0-10, est. 0) two unidentified females, maybe Mary 2. and Nancy Jane (both 0-10).[2]

Rachel died on 13 Oct 1860 in Macoupin Co., IL aged ~67.
