Hardy was born in 1765. He passed away in 1842.

From Find A Grave: This may be the same Hardy Hinton who is listed on this website as Hardy (Henry) Hinton. However, no evidence suggests this Hardy Hinton was born in Scotland. It is also the same stone that has been entered as "Handy Hinton" on this website.

Place: Harris Cemetery, Bingham, Fayette County, Illinois

Research Note

Hardy Hinton, who migrated to Fayette County, IL by way of Allen County, KY is NOT the Hardy Hinton who was the son of Malachi Hinton and Sarah Wimberly. Malachi and Sarah's Hardy Hinton married Clara Alford and migrated to Georgia. From FamilySearch.org Laura Enomoto 00:34, 5 July 2021 (UTC)

I believe Hardy Hinton is the son of Hardy Hinton and Mary Dempsey from Johnston county, North Carolina.

But the Hardy Hinton you believe to be his father, the one married to Mary Dempsey, supposedly died four years before this Hardy Hinton was born.

Why did Hardy Hinton leave North Carolina and move to Martinsville, Ky, and then moved to Illinois?

Please help with my search! Thank you, Katherine
