Here we have George Hinton-Uncle George.With Margret, you can see the Well;features.I dont know much about maggie accept she had a number of children--Her first born being Kenneth, out of wedlock, fathered by Joe Bourne, who farmed Home farm Ellerdine, th
One story tells how Ken in India was Srgt/major he thumped a young Officer fresh out Sandurst, for getting men killed needlessley. Was put on a charge, which was dropped against him when his General wanted him to fight against a U S A heavy weight--apparently, there had been agro between the U S fleet comdr; and Brittish Gen;
during the WW1 when both were much lower ranked--so if
Ken won charge was dropped and two stipes as reward
if he lost--he'd be shot--Les Bedson told me this-Les was
in the Police when i met him. He served under Ken before
the war in India, a raw squaddie.
Uncle George, was a fun loving man, enjoyed a joke-a good prank, i remember one story of how he caught a sparrow, painted it several colours and sold it to some well off townie as a seven coloured linnet for 10 shilling
He was also very inventive, and clever with his hands
he fashioned all kinds, from wooden wind mills, to.!!
well you name it?? Uncle George did it. He later married
a lady Ilene Davis, Auntie I--we all thought a lot of her, she
was a very kind lady, i remember going all the way to where, she and uncle Geo; was living when i came back from Canada--I loved them both.
