Oct. 1, 1786, George Sparkman married Ruth Holley in Bertie County NC, bondsman was Edward Turner. [ancestry.com]
The 1790 census has two free white females in the household of George Sparkman. It's not know for sure if the two oldest daughters of George were the daughters of Ruth or of Martha. Ruth may have died in childbirth with her second daughter. George married his second wife Martha Bryant in February 1791.
Ruth was born in 1768. She passed away in 1791.
