The Wm Hopkins who died 19 July 1647 was in the House of Commons & married to Helen Vickaris. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Hopkins_(Bewdley_MP)

He is not believed by anyone I've read to be the brother of Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower. That Stephen's half-brother Wm was baptized 16 Jun 1575 in Upper Clatford, Hampshire, son of John Hopkins (who is not the son of a Stephen born in 1518 and a mythical Katherine Wheldon who was invented on LDS IGI and married to 2 other men (including Mayflower Stephen) before being assigned to Stephen in Norfork. We tracked her years ago before IGI was discontinued (in 2008).

See how Nicholas Hopkins, Mary Poole & Stephen (1518) got invented in a book published in the 1890s: http://boards.ancestry.com/surnames.hopkins/5435/mb.ashx
