Biography

Eddie was the 2nd son of Willam Howe and Rosa Smitham. He passed away about 1921 due to Pneumonia.[1]

He was born after the family migrated to India. His mother Rosa died soon after his birth, and oral family history suggests that he and his elder brother Bill were farmed out to a childless Aunt Laurine Murray. Eddie died of pneumonia aged six years in 1921.

The majority of deaths in the Spanish Influenza pandemic likely resulted directly from secondary bacterial pneumonia caused by common upper respiratory–tract bacteria, so Eddie may well have been a victim of this pandemic.
