Biography

William was born about 1806, Ayrshire Scotland. Parents being William Howie and Mary Wallace.

1829 William marries Helen Merrie, the marriage was registered in the Parish of Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. ^[1]

1841 Residence East Netherton Street, Ayrshire. William, is about 35 years, occupation is that of a Cotton H L W, his wife Helen age recorded as 30 years. Children in the household are Mary age 11, Helen age 11 and William age 2 years. All household members birthplace recorded as Ayrshire. ^[2]

1849 Their daughter Mary marries Alexander Findlay, their marriage was registered in Galston, Ayr.
