Note: The following entries appear in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Obituary Scrapbook: Eugenia Huffaker Gardner, 74, a native of South Cottonwood and prominent resident of West Jordan, died yesterday at her home. Mrs. Gardner was the widow of George D. Gardner. She was born March 15, 1861, a daughter of Simpson D. Huffaker and Rhoda P. Barnum. Her mother died five years later. Mrs. Gardner was married in 1883 in the Endowment House. Mrs. Gardner Surviving Mrs. Gardner are her husband; three sons, Delos-Gardner of Tucson, Ariz., Darrell Gardner of Superior, Ariz., and Parry Gardner of Tacoma, Wash.; three daughters, Laura Gardner of West Jordan, Mrs. Marvel Jacobson of Provo, and Mrs. Irmadel Evans of South Jordan; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Rhoda H. Gardner of Lehi, Mrs. Mina Perry of Salt Lake, Mrs. Aradna Nelson of West Jordan, Mrs. Frances Walton of South Cottonwood, Mrs. Mary Eastman of Evanston, Wyo., Judge Dermont Huffaker, Ray E. Huffaker of South Cottonwood, Simpson Huffaker of Evanston, Wyo., Frank Huffaker of Magna, and Earl Huffaker of Pocatello, Idaho. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Sept. 28-35
Mrs. Eugenia Huffaker Gardner. 74, a resident of West Jordan, died Friday afternoon at the family residence of causes incident to age. Mrs. Gardner Born March 15, 1861, Mrs. Gardner was a daughter of Simpson D. and Rhoda P. Barnum Huffaker. She was the widow of George D. Gardner, whom she married in the Salt Lake City endowment house in 1883. She is survived by three sons, Delos Gardner, Tucson, Ariz.; Darrell Gardner, Superior, Ariz., and Perry Gardner, Tacoma, Wash.; three daughters. Miss Laura Gardner, West Jordan; Mrs. Irmadell Evans. South Jordan, and Mrs. Marvel Jacobsen, Provo, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Rhoda H. Gardner, Lehi; Mrs. Mina Perry, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Aradna Nelson, West Jordan; Mrs. Frances Walton, South Cottonwood; Mrs. Retta Johnston, Vernal; Mrs. Mary Eastman, Evanston, Wyo.; Dermott Huffaker, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Ray E. Huffaker, South Cottonwood; Simpson Huffaker, Evanston, Wyo.; Frank Huffaker, Magna, and Earl Huffaker of Pocatello, Idaho. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p. m. in the West Jordan L. D. S. ward chapel, Bishop David M. Haun officiating. Friends may call at the family residence Tuesday from 10 a. m. until 12 noon. Burial will be in the Murray City cemetery.
