Sudrah (Hughes) Carpenter was noted in the will of her father William Hughes of Hampshire Colony, Virginia, the will dated 31 Dec 1762 and proved on 9 Jun 1767.[1]
Sidney Hewes (aka Hughes) was born in 1725 in Pennsylvania [source?]. She was named for her mother, Sidney Withers Hewes. Some contemporary documents spelled her given name as "Sudna" or "Sunda". Her family moved south to Hampshire County, Virginia, when she was a child.[Source?]
In 1741, at 16 years old, she married Solomon Carpenter in Hampshire County, Virginia. The couple pioneered Appalachian Virginia and had 14 children:

Solomon Carpenter died in 1783 in Botetourt County, Virginia. Sidney (Hewes) Carpenter survived his passing for another decade or so. She must have written a will in March 1792 as several family genealogies say she died "after March 1792".
Her 1790s death location in Randolph County, Virginia, became Elk River, Braxton, West Virginia after 1863 when West Virginia became a separate state in the United States.

Hughes-24471 and Hewes-2 appear to represent the same person because: they are the same although they don't look like it. Fathers last name was Hughes. There are no sources to check in Family Search 4 sources lead nowhere. First name is a toss-up. Sudra in Family Search Merge if you agree.
