Elmore L. Hutchins was born on June 6, 1897, in Kennebunkport, Maine. His father, Wyman, was 31 and his mother, Anna, was 37. He married Hazel May Leach on December 27, 1919, in his hometown. They had one child (Harrison P. Hutchins) during their marriage. He died on July 14, 1974, in Biddeford, Maine, at the age of 77. He is buried in the military section of Arundel Cemetery in Kennebunkport, ME.
