Sarah Jeanes was born July 30, 1751, in Abington Township, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Joseph Jeanes and Sarah Roberts. Sarah's parents were members of the Abington Monthly Meeting of the Society of Friends (aka Quakers) and are buried in the Abington Friends Cemetery, in modern day Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, created on September 10, 1784, from part of Philadelphia County. Sarah married Adam Rhoads, aka Rhodes, 1740-1810. Children of Sarah and Adam include:

Margaret Rhoads, born 1774, died 1849, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, married William Carter, Jr. a son of William Carter and Mary Hayhurst [3]
Sarah Rhoads, born 1776, died 1880, in Delaware, Pennsylvania, apparently unmarried, buried in the Concord Orthodox Friends Burial Ground. [4]
Joseph Rhoads, born 1779, died August 28, 1852, in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, married Naomi Thomas, in 1806 [5]
Esther Rhoads, born October 11, 1780, in Darby Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, died July 26, 1849, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, married John B. Evans, 1775-1820 [6]
Elizabeth Rhoads, born 1784, married James Evans, found on the 1850 Census, at the age of 64, living in the home of her son, George Evans [7]
Hannah Rhoads, born 1791, died 1850, married Norris Jones [8]
Sarah (Jeanes) Rhoads died June 11, 1817, in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, and is buried in the Darby Friends Cemetery. [9]
