Margaret's sister Mary Hocket married Henry Thornton on Janurary 3, 1861. They had two children, Roseaner Thornton b. October 26, 1861 and John Anderson Henry Thornton b. October 16, 1863. Mary and Henry somehow died of disease or accident early in their married life and the children were raised by Eligah and Margaret Jeffreys.
Sarah, Dolly, and Lucendy lived at Eligah's home place, and farmed it. Dine who was Melvine, had a daughter named Nola, she married Jess Steward. They moved in with the three sisters (Sarah, Dolly, and Lucendy) and helped farm the place and latter took care of them. The place was then Jess and Nola's.
