The earliest record account of John Wallas Jeffreys at age 8, is in the 1870 census for Fayette Co. Alabama as a child of Elijah and Marget Jeffreys.

John Wallas Jeffreys was married to Luticia Francis Guttrey in Marion Co. AL or in Lawrence Co. AL, per family records but a marriage certificate has not yet been found for him.

Shortly after his only child William Houston was born, Luticia and William went to Franklin Co. Alabama to live with her parents Robert and Francis Guttrey.
