Biography

Edmond Jenkins is a member of the Jenkins Name Study Project.
Edmond Jenkins was born in Appalachia, in Alabama.

Edmond was born on March 27, 1850 in Russell County Alabama. He was the son of Henry Marion Jenkins and Harriet (Bush) Jenkins.

When Edmond was 22, he married Martha Ann Livica Sasser on October 24, 1872 in Russell County, Alabama.[1] The couple had 14 children:

  2. Martha Melissa Jenkins[2]
  3. Homs Jenkins
  4. Richard Horace Jenkins
  5. Clarence Jenkins
  6. William Clarke Jenkins[3]
  7. Jerome Elwood Jenkins[4]

  9. Robert Lee Jenkins[5]
  10. Buelah Jenkins

In the 1880 census Edmond (age 30) was living in Pierce Chapel, Lee, Alabama, USA. Marital status: Married. Relation to Head of House: Self.[6]

In the 1900 census Edmond (age 50) was living in Marvyn, Russell, Alabama, USA. Marital Status: Married. Relation to Head of House: Head.[7]

He died, at the age of 77, on January 24, 1928 in Russell County, Alabama.[8] He is buried at the Watoola Cemetery, Lee County, Alabama.[9]
