Biography

He is recorded as being born May 1818 in 1911 Census for Lower Cove, Newfoundland but his death record states that he was 97 at date of death[1], which means birth year 1820. In the Butt book he is listed as Alexander/Alexis Jesseaume son of Joseph-Marie Jesseaume and Marie-Josephe Anne Marche, born in 1820.

Married Ann LeJeune (b. 1819, daughter of Jacques LeJeune and Catherine Jesso). In 1858, he is still living in the inner bay (Kippens) when he was recorded on Forrest's List as having a family of 9[2].

In 1911, he is a widower, age 92, immigrated 1870, 60 years naturalized and living with his son William[3].

His death record indicates that he was born about May 1818 Sydney, Nova Scotia. and died Jan 19 1917 Lower Cove, Port au Prince peninsula, Newfoundland at age 97 of old age. Interred St. George's, Jan 21, 1917
