Biography

Theotiste's family was living in Little Bras d'Or before they came to Newfoundland in the 1830s so she was probably born there in about 1815.[1]

Theotiste married Sebastien around 1835. They lived Benoit's Cove for some time. Sebastien moved later to live in West Bay on the Port au Port peninsula. On her children's baptism records at Sandy Point, her maiden name is recorded as Japeau.

Notes

it looks like Sebastian and Theotiste (Catherine) had a daughter Mary A, who was remarried in 1910 to a DeWitt C Moak, in Boston, Massachusetts[2]. Mary's birth location correlates to info already here.
