Anna Johansson was born on April 26, 1885 in Östraby, Malmöhus, Sweden. Her parents were Johan Svensson and Elna Jönsdotter and was the only daughter amongst 9 sons.

Her father died when she was barely 8 years old. She emigrated to the United States on 15 Jul 1898 and was one of 8 siblings that ended up making that trip. At the time she was only 13 years of age and seemed to have travelled unaccompanied by any family. Her two youngest brothers stayed behind and was raised in foster families along with her widowed mother who took employment as a maid to make ends meet.

It is unknown how Anna Maria fared in her new home country, it is known that she at occasion met up with her oldest brother Nils Swanson.

She married Homer Spoonemore on August 28, 1918 in Mendocino, California, and as far as anyone know, did not have any children.[1][2]

She died on 12 Jun 1985 in Eureka, Humboldt, California.[3]
