Janet, daughter of William Johnstone[1]
and Catherine Douglas (McKay) Johnstone was born 16 Jul 1856. She went to live with relatives when her father died at sea. One story had her living with the Dan Johnstone family; another had her living with her uncle David and aunt Lizzie at the mill. John Johnstone and Janet Johnstone were married 15 Oct 1874 in Long River, Queens, Prince Edward Island. The witnesses were David Whitehead and David Johnstone. [2][3] They lived in Long River, Prince Edward Island. [4][5]
The family Bible reveals that Janet had a baby boy born 11 Jan 1889 who died 25 Apr 1889. Tuberculosis was a major issue among her children. Some of them came to believe that she was a carrier. Janet died 15 Dec 1900 in Long River, Queens, Prince Edward Island. Her remains were interred in Geddie Memorial Cemetery, Springbrook, Prince Edward Island. [6]
