Mary W (Polly) Jolley was born on October 3, 1838 in Cleveland County, North Carolina, the daughter of Jesse Jolley and Sarah (Hughes) Jolley. She was the sister of Britt A. Jolley, William A. Jolley, James Jolley, Stanford Jolley, Arcena Jolley, Jesse L. Jolley, Nancy C. Jolley, Kissiah E. (Jolley) Hawkins, Crawford D. Jolley, Elizabeth Jolley, Lucinda Jolley, Leona J. (Jolley) Hamrick and Susannah (Jolley) Hamrick

Polley married James Crowder Pruett. They had at least the following children:

1. Margaret Madora Pruett McSwain
2. Roseline Pruett Jolley

Polly died on December 17, 1925 and was buried at home.^[1]
