Biography

Sophia was born at home at 14 Bennett Street, Chiswick on the 11th December 1841. Her father is given as William Jones, a labourer. Her mother, Elizabeth Jones nee Marrant, made her mark when she registered the birth on the 10th January 1842. ^[1]

She was baptised 9 JAN 1842 at St Nicholas, Chiswick ^[2]

In 1851 she was living with her parents on Bennett Street in Chiswick ^[3]

In 1873, at St James, Bermondsey, Samuel Hearne, aged 40, a widower, a railway porter, s/o Daniel Hearne, a labourer, married his sister-in-law Sophia Jones, a spinster aged 31 of 89 Princes Road, d/o William Jones, a gardener. ^[4]

In 1891 they were living on Linsey Street in Bermondsey. Samuel was a railway porter and they had no children ^[5]

Sophia died in 1900 ^[6]
