Abraham was born 28 Aug 1835 in Chiswick, Middlesex and was baptised at St Nicholas, Chiswick on the 6th September [1]
In 1841 he was living with his parents on William Street in Chiswick [2]
In 1851 he had left home and was working as a pot washer in a pub in Chiswick [3]
He joined the army in 1858, initially in the First Dragoon Guards but later transferred to the 16th Regiment of Lancers. He served for 19 years of which years were in the East Indies. He was discharged in Aldershot, Hampshire, as a Chelsea Pensioner in 1878 suffering from chronic rheumatism. The comments on his discharge papers say:
Abraham Jones, bachelor aged 44 son of William Jones, married Elizabeth Brown, widow, aged 36 daughter of Noah Luker in 1879 at St Mary in Reading, Berkshire. [4][5]
In 1881 Abraham and Elizabeth were living in Reading and he was working as a bricklayer's labourer [6].
Elizabeth died in 1888 and in 1901 Abraham was in the workhouse in Farnham [7].
Abraham died in Farnham in 1905 [8]
