From Find a Grave: "Garnett C. Newlon, 80, of Parkersburg, went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2009, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 4, 1928, in Wirt County, a daughter of the late Ira and Maggie Fought Jones.

Her family was her greatest joy, she was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.

She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn (Raymond) Boyles of Davisville, Janet Hysell and Martha (Roger) Johnson, both of Parkersburg; two brothers, Lewis and Lloyd Jones; one sister, Evon Frazier; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a very special friend and neighbor for 55 years, Betty Blair and family.

In addition to her parents, Garnett was preceded in death by her husband, David B. Newlon; a granddaughter, Melinda; three brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Bud Corbin officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
