The Genealogy of the Ricks Family (Guy Rix, pub 1908) pp 18 states that the wife of Joseph was a Mary Crow. This maiden name is not seen elsewhere. This is in reference to the parents of his son Joseph who married Mary Ricks in Chuckatuck in 1723.
There are two interesting entries in the Symons Creek Monthly Meeting minutes of 1704.[9]
1st 4th 1704 at a meeting at Caleb Bundys "...there appears to be Difference between Joseph Jordan and Mary Clark. Friends taking the [sarrie?] into consideration appoint three men to discourage Joseph Jordan and make their report to the next monthly meeting."
(undated but the entry subsequent to the above)"At a monthly meeting at the house of Caleb Bundy, Friends receiving the report of the three friends appointed by the Monthly Meeting to visit with Joseph Jordan which the said Joseph Jordan does not seem to be sorry for what he hath done. Nevertheless friends intend to [warn?] him do appoint James Toole Thomas Symons to Visit him again and to make their report to the next monthly meeting."
There does not seem to be a record of the outcome of this at the subsequent meeting.
