Biography

Peter was born about 1803 in Frederick County, Maryland, the youngest of eight known children of Peter and Mary Margaret Lehman Kemp. Peter is listed as age 8 at the time of the Chancery Court proceedings regarding his father's estate.^[1]

His first marriage was to Elizabeth Myers, daughter of Rudolph Myers, around 1825. Their children included the following, named in Rudolph's estate papers^[2]:

• Mary D. Cramer, wife of John Cramer
• William H. Kemp

Peter died of unknown causes on 6 Oct 1885 in Frederick County, Maryland. He was in his early eighties.
