Biography

Samuel Kennerly was born before 1695 in Dorchester Maryland to Joseph Kennerly and his wife. He married his first wife in Dorchester, Maryland before 1716. There were three children of this marriage:

Margaret Kennerly
Anne Kennerly
Samuel Kennerly

He married his second wife Eleanor about 1717 in Dorchester, Maryland. There were four children of this marriage:

Catherine Kennerly
Thomas Kennerly
James Kennerly
Elizabeth Kennerly

Samuel Kennerly died in 1750 in St. Mark's Parish of Culpeper County, Virginia.

Will

In the Name of God Amen. SAMMUEL Kennerly of Culpeper County and in Saint Marks Parish being in good helth and of perfect sound and soled mind and memory do make this my last Will and Testament first of all I give and bequieve my Soul into the hands of God who gave it and my body to the Dust to be buried in a Christian like and decent maner and as to my worldly goods .. I give and dispose of in the maner and form following. Imprimis I give & bequieve unto my beloved Wife ELLENDER KENERLY four hundred acres of land joyning THORNTON & COVINGTON and JOHN STROTHER during her natural life and at her Decease to be equally divided between her four children namely THOMAS KENERLY , JAMES KENERLY and ELIZABETH COLEMAN and CATTRON STROTHER. Item I give and bequieve unto my Son SAMMUEL Kennerly three pounds current money of Virginia. Imprimis I give and bequieve to my daughter MARGARET RUDDALL three pounds current money of Virginia. Imprimis I gieve and bequieve to my Daughter ANN WAMSLEY five pounds current money of Virginia and as to my personal Estate I gieve and bequieve to my beloved wife to be at her disposal forever except she marries and after her marage then to be equally divided between her four children before mentioned. I likewise appoint my beloved wife Execetress and my Son THOMAS KENERLY and my Son JAMES KENERLY Executors. In Witness whereof .. this twenty seventh day of September 1749. Presence JAMES WADE, Samuel Kennerly JOHN STROTHER, ANTHONY STROTHER At Court held for the County of Culpeper on Thursday the 18th day of January 1749 This last Will and Testament of SAMUEL Kennerly deceased was proved .. by witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded being sworn to by EL IANOR Kennerly one of the Executors therein named and on her motion Certificate is granted her for obtaining a Probat thereof in due form Liberty being reserved to JOHN and JAMES Kennerly the other Executors within named to join in the Probat when they shall think fit.

Kennerly-82 and Kennerly-164 appear to represent the same person because: Same death date, place and children. No source for birth date on Kennerly-164, so I think about 1695 in MD should be used
