Biography
John Graybill[1] was born in about 1778, in Pennsylvania.[2]
He married Margaret Kepner/Kepler before 1810, probably in Perry County, Indiana.[3]
They probably had at least two children: Jacob, born about 1808 in Tennessee; Tennessee; and Joseph, born about 1811 in Kentucky.[4] His wife, Margaret, was apparently deceased by 1850, and her son Joseph lived in the household with John, as well as his possible wife Polly, born about 1816 in Kentucky. Their probable son Jacob lived next door, with his wife Nancy, born about 1825 in Indiana; married within the year. Polly may be John's single daughter, as she is listed ahead of Joseph in the 1860 census. In this census, John is shown with a real estate valuation of $560.[5] Jacob is no longer living next door. The 1830 census shows three young girls, probably daughters.[3]
John died sometime after 1860, probably in Perry County.[3]
