Bio: Mrs. Virginia Buckman, 78, of Springfield died at 9:20 a.m. Friday at Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Mattoon, the daughter of the late Rufus W. and Minnie A. Anderson King. She had been a resident of Springfield since 1914. She married James T. Buckman in 1925 and he died in 1975. Mrs. Buckman was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Flower City Chapter 152, O.E.S., and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem Jeptha Shrine 75. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Mildred Hohimer, Mrs. Marcella Hinckle and Mrs. Charlotte Titus, all of Springfield; Mrs. Fern Willey of Alaska and Mrs. Alberta Gregg of Ocala, Fla.; one brother, Sherman King of Defiance, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Flesner officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
