Professional Narrative Kathy Lyda is the co-founder and Head of School at E.A. Young Academy, an accredited, not-for-profit, private academy created to generate transformative change to meet the needs of the K-12, gifted, talented, and high ability scholar. E.A. Young Academy began in 2012 with six 6th graders as a grass roots effort initiated by gifted and talented advocates, teachers, and parents of the gifted. It is now a K-12 school serving the special needs of the gifted and talented community in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area. Mrs. Lyda comes with an intrinsic, passionate commitment for gifted, talented and high-ability scholar education which began through her involvement with her own gifted and talented daughters.

E.A. Young Academy is the only K-12 private school in the north Texas region to offer a comprehensive program targeted specifically for the gifted, talented and high ability scholar. Additionally, Young Academy is one of only 1100 high schools worldwide selected to participate in the newly developed College Board AP Capstone™ Program.

Mrs. Lyda serves on accreditation teams through AdvancED® to evaluate and coach north Texas schools on continuous quality improvement, student learning outcomes and incorporation of best practices. She enjoys teaching her own College Board Advanced Placement Psychology class while incorporating gifted and talented teaching strategies within the College Board’s Advanced Placement framework. Mrs. Lyda recently served as a spokesperson for the Mensa Foundation’s awareness video which highlighted not only the needs of gifted and talented children, but those needs of gifted and talented adults. She has also shared her knowledge about the social/emotional needs of the gifted child as a presenter at TAGT and has led gifted youth in teamwork activities at the national Mensa Annual Gathering.

Previously, Mrs. Lyda served as the President of Camenae Group, Inc. and was responsible for the oversight, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of the continuing education program and strategic plan. Hello Kathy,

Welcome to WikiTree! The email we just sent has helpful links to get you started.

WikiTree is different than other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree?

When you confirm your email address, you’ll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history. Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests.

When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will confirm your membership. Then you'll be able to add your family to the tree!

We're really glad you're here!

Gilly – Greeter
