Biography

When Matthew Kitchings was born in 1755 in Edgecombe, North Carolina, his father, William, was 37 and his mother, Sarah Phillips, was 36. He had five children with Elizabeth Bessie Copeland between 1789 and 1804. He died in 1818 in South Carolina at the age of 63, and was buried in Aiken, South Carolina.
