Biography
Geesje (born 1755) married Gerrit Dirks Meister from Giethoorn on April 2 1786. Children: Dirk (Aug 18 1793, witness Grietje Gerrits Ram), Grietjen (May 7 1798, witness Annigje Gerrits Ram).
Geesje was married both in Giethoorn and St. Johannesga, Friesland. They apparently spent part of the year in each place, working the peat bogs. They attended the Reformed Church. Gerrit would have been among the first people from Giethoorn to start working in the bogs of Friesland.
