Biography

Harry Lamon was a bootlegger during the Prohibition of Alcohol. A 260 pound conman, he'd take his nephew on booze runs sometimes to prevent hijacking (if they saw a young boy they probably wouldn't attack the car. Though one time they were actually hijacked by a future family member Harry Tucker (future husband of Nettie Lamon).

Harry Lamon traveled with circuses and carnivals. He'd be the one to visit with the local sheriff maybe greased their palms with a few dollars. A mid-way fixer he was called he'd set up carnival in an area and pay off the sheriffs for the crooked games that people would inevitably complain about (on occasion) This way the carnival wouldn't have to pay any fines for crooked games.

DR. LAMON was not a real Doctor; he merely got the name for selling eyeglasses to backcountry people.

He was a 'quick- change artist' and would 'film-flam the folks"... usually when he walked out of a store he had more money then when he went into it.

'Gypsy Johnny' and many other carnival people happened to be in a Philadelphia hotel in 1968... the same hotel Jerry Sternberg (Harry's nephew) was at that night. Gypsy Johnny told Jerry he knew who Harry Lamon was but hadn't seen him in a couple years and couldn't find him or get in contact.

... almost 50 years later the Lamon family finally found out his final resting place was Houston Tx passing away 2-3 years before Gypsy Johnny told Jerry he sadly didn't know where Harry was.
