Biography

René Landry is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana, on Plaque 12 Left, La Ville d'Arcangel arrivee 3 Decembre 1785. Listed with Rene are eight children: Marie, Servanne, Jean Raphael, Marguerite, Anne, Pierre, Joseph, Jeanne, and his beau frere (brother-in-law), Paul Babin. [1]

Jean Baptiste Raphael was born and baptized in exile on 27 February 1767 in Saint-Servan, France. He is the son of René Landry and Marguerite Babin. [2]

3 December 1785 : Immigration - New Orleans, Louisiana. [3]

Jean Raphael LANDRY, age 18, son of René LANDRY, age 53, traveling with him and seven siblings, plus Paul BABIN, his uncle, as the 44th family (of 10 persons) aboard "La Ville d'Archangel."

He passed away in Louisiana. [2]
