Circa 1666 -- Stoffel Dircksen (Theophilus) Langstraat/Langestraet was born at Flatlands (Ameersfoort), Long Island, (now Brooklyn, New York City), New York. His name was "Dirck Stoffels" which means "Dirck son of Stoffel." He was a son of Dirck Langestraet and Katerina van Lieuwen. [1] [2]

1696 -- the family name "Langstraat" {sic} or "Langestraet" {sic} appeared and by 1739 was anglicized into "Longstreet." [5]
1698 -- Stoffel Dircksen Langstraat/Langestraet was a deacon of the Flatlands Reformed Dutch church, Flatlands, Kings County, (now Brooklyn, New York City), New York. [6] [7]
1698 -- census recorded Stoffel Dircksen as "Dirck Langstraat" of Flatlands, Long Island (now Brooklyn, Kings County, New York City), New York. [8]
Circa 1699 -- Stoffel Dircksen Langstraat/Langestraet, his brother Adrian Langestraet, and his father Dirck Stoffels Langestraet moved from Flatlands, Kings county, (now Brooklyn, New York City), New York to Monmouth County, Province of East Jersey (now New Jersey). [9]
Circa 1700 -- Stoffel Dircksen Langestraet settled at Neversink Hills, Monmouth County, Province of East Jersey (now New Jersey). [10]
Saturday December 31, 1726 -- Theophilus Langstraat from Shrewsbury, “aged near 60” shot down six of seven swans with one shot. Therefore, he was born circa 1666. [11] [12]
December 1, 1739 -- date of Stoffel Dircksen Langestraet's will in which he called himself "'Theophilus,' an erroneous interpretation of his proper name of Stoffel, or Christopher," but signed his name at Shrewsbury, Monmouth County, Province of New Jersey as "Stoffel Langstrat" {sic}. Stoffel Langstraat bequeathed his plantation to son Richard (Dirck), land to other sons (established as “second son Gilbert”, “third son Awrie”, fourth son Theophilus), and money to daughters. [13]
Before Circa March 1, 1741 -- Stoffel Dircksen Langstraet died at Neversink Hills, Monmouth County, Province of New Jersey. [14]
March 1, 1741 -- date on which Stoffel Dircksen Langestraet's will was probated at Perth Amboy, Middlesex County, Province of New Jersey. [15] [16] [17]
