James Langham MP is Notable.

Born about 1621 James Langham was the eldest son of Sir John Langham of Cottesbrooke in Northamptonshire [1] and his wife, Mary Bunce.[2] He was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge and Lincoln's Inn.[2][1]

He married, by license dated the 8th of December 1647, Mary Alston, daughter of Sir Edward Alston of London and his wife, Susan Hudson. Together they had three sons and two daughters.[2]

James was returned to Parliament as member for Northamptonshire in 1656 and for Northampton in 1659 but is thought not to have sought a seat in 1660. [2]

James was knighted on the 25th of May 1660 and married secondly by license dated the 18th of November 1662, Lady Elizabeth Hastings, daughter of Ferdinando Hastings Earl of Huntingdon and his wife, Lucy Davies, who brought him £10,000. No children were born to the marriage. [2]

He took a Northampton seat again in 1661, didn't stand in the November election, but was returned in a subsequent by-election which return was leater declared void. [3]

His third wife was Lady Penelope Holles, daughter of John Holles, Earl of Clare, and his wife, Elizabeth de Vere, whom he married by license granted on the 13th of April 1667. There were no children born to the marriage. [2] With his father's death on the 13th of May 1671 he succeeded as 2nd Baronet Langham of Cottesbrooke.[2]

James married fourthly Dorothy Pomeroy, daughter of John Pomeroy of Devon which was another childless marriage. [2]

He died on the 22nd of August 1699 [2] at Kensington and was buried at Cottesbrooke. [1]
