William Allen Lawson was born on August 3, 1832 in Hawkins County, Tennessee United States, son of Alem Lawson (~1814–~1850) and Susan Julia Manis (1815–1902).[1]

William (19) married Mariley Jane Delph (14) (born in 1837 in Tennessee, United States; daughter of Stephen Delph and Susan (Robinson) Delph) in 1852 in Tennessee United States. Their son was Irving Lawson (1872–1900).

William died on October 25, 1919 in Anderson, Madison, Indiana United States, aged 87. He was buried in Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, Madison County, Indiana.
