GEORGE ADAM LEIBERSPERGER (2) (John George 1), b. Sept. 29, 1726, cl. Sept. 26, 1799, m. Catharina Barbara Kuhntz, Sept. 26, 1749 (daughter of John Jacob Kuhntz), b. Jan. 13, 1730, d. Sept. 25, 1809. They were confirmed at the New Hanover Lutheran Ch., she in 1744 and her husband, on April 8, 1750, after their marriage. They are buried on the Old Ziegel Ch. Cem. and have marked graves, but the tombstones are in such condition that the inscriptions cannot be read. On July 6, 1750 an agreement for worship in the first Ziegel (log) Ch., (by a committee of Lutheran and Reformed) was signed. George Adam (X) Leibesperger was one of the Lutheran signers. He lived and tilled the lighter soil of his acres in Weisenberg Township, where chestnut trees abounded, and where all his chil¬ dren must have been born. Then, towards the close of the Revo¬ lutionary War, he moved into Maxatawny Township, (where the soil was a deep clay and covered by large oak trees), where they both died. They had 8 sons and 3 daughters. 11 children (3rd generation) 1. Catharina Leibelsperger, b. about 1751, confirmed at the Ziegel Ch. on Easter 1766, m. Henry Kuhns. Prob¬ ably bur. in the old Ziegel Ch. Cem. (No issue). 2. A son (name unknown). Probably died at birth. 3. Jacob Leibelsperger, m. Eve Elizabeth, (maiden name unknown ) . 4. John Leibelsperger, m. Maria Catharine, (maiden name unknown) . 5. Christina Leibelsperger, b. Sept. 29, 1759, confirmed at the Lehigh Ch., 1774, d. July 10, 1841, m. Jacob Her- many, b. Nov. 13, 1755, d. Sept. 14, 1836 both buried at Maxatawny Zions Ch. Cem. (No issue). 6. Frederick Leibelsperger, m. Hannah Margaret Haines. 7. Daniel Leibelsperger, b. 1763, bapt. Feb. 12, 1763, at the Lehigh Ch. Sponsors, Daniel Stettler and Christina, wife of Rev. Jacob F. Shertlein, the pastor. (Probably died young) . 8. Mathias Leibelsperger, m. Catharina Lichtenwalner. 9. Philip Leibelsperger, m. Barbara Lichtenwalner. 10. Daniel Leibelsperger, m. Catharina LeidR. o 11. Magdalena Leibelsperger, m. John Ivemmerer.

Son of Johannes and Catharina LEIBENSPERGER who d. in Ilshofen, Germany. 1761 taxes Whitehall Tp Northampton Co Pa £10. Was this his property: 14 April 1794 and 27 May 1794 show a messuage, gristmill, sawmill and two continguous tracts in Salisbury and Macungie Tps being sold to and by a Jacob LEIBELSPERGER of Salisbury and Maxatawny Tp, miller, and wife Eve Elisabeth [?] for £1,000. Neighboring land is going to Philip LEIBELSPERGER. Northampton Co. Deed Book B2, pp. 32-33 & 477-478.
