Mavis Alwyn Lester was born in 1906 in Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia, daughter of James Hanum Lester (~1867–1925) and Margaret Murtha (1869–1952)[1].
In 1937 she married Kingsley Middleton Laffer in Perth[2].
Mavis died in 1987 in Australia, aged 81[3].
