Biography
George was born in 1856. He was the son of James Longden and Elizabeth (Hendy) Longden.
In 1871 George was one of 7 children living in Thornbury with parents Elizabeth and James. James was a Mason.
On 5 March 1882 George Longden and Mary Ann Brewer married in Bristol. George was a Mason as was his father James. Mary Ann's father James was a Collier. Mary Ann died aged 44 in 1895.
In 1891 James and Polly (Mary Ann) were living in Thornbury with 4 children.
On 26 March 1904, widower George Longden and widow Mary Jane Riddle married in Bristol. George was a Mason, as was his father James, Mary Jane's father James Bennett was a labourer.
