The witnesses were called William Longshaw and Maria Longshaw. [2]

In 1911 Emma Slater was living at Eastleach Turville in Gloucestershire with her husband Solomon. Her age was given as 65, implying a birth date in 1845 or 1846. Her birthplace was given as Shipton under Whichwood, Oxfordshire. It was stated that Solomon and Emma had been married for 40 complete years and had had 2 children together, both of whom were still living. [5] (Her daughter Sarah Monk was living next door.)
