Catherine Jane was born 20 Sep 1861 in Ontario, Canada according to the 1901 census.[1] Her age at death and her age in the 1871 census both suggest that she was born in an earlier year, possibly 1858.
Her parents were Edward Losee and Elizabeth.
In the 1871 census Catharine (age 13) was in Belleville, Hastings, Ontario, Canada.[2]
Catherine married James McDonald 15 Oct 1876 in Sidney, Hastings, Ontario, Canada. [3]
Catherine appeared in the 1901 Census of Canada in Toronto East with her husband James and nine offspring. [4][5] Her complete birthdate is en the census. [1]
Catherine Jane MacDonald passed away Feb 1 1911, age 52, in York, Ontario, Canada. She died from the results of Addison's Disease [6] and chronic asthma.
Catherine was buried in the St. John's Norway Cemetery in The Beaches area of Toronto in 1911. Her date of death is on the gravestone. Her age given as her 53rd year would put her year of birth as 1858, earlier than the 1861 year in the 1901 census. [7][8]
