Thomas Lovick was born in Norwich, Norfolk, England, the seventh child of William Lovick and his wife Sarah. By the time Thomas was born, two of his older brothers had died and a third brother William would be dead by the end of the 1721. Thomas was the second of William and Sarah's children to be named Thomas for his paternal grandfather Thomas Lovick, and he was baptised at St Stephen, Norwich, Norfolk, England on 8 January 1720/1:
The Lovick family had a comfortable middle class living in the city of Norwich. Thomas' father was an apothecary and was also active in local politics. In coming years he would be elected an Alderman of the City of Norwich.
Thomas died in December 1723, and was buried on 6 December at St Stephen's, just 10 days after the burial of his younger brother William. [2]
