Jessie was born in 1874 in Casey County, Kentucky. He is the son of Mat Luttrell and Betty Meeks.

He married Mary Jane Turpin (1884–1972) 7 August 1901 in Jamestown, Russell County, Kentucky at the residence of the bride's father George R. Turpin.

JESSE LUTTRELL PASSES

Jesse D. Luttrell, born Feb. 9, 1874 to Matthew (Matt) and Rebecca Meeks Luttrell, died Jan. 1, 1952 at the age of 77 years.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Turpin whom he married August 7, 1901, their nine of eleven children, Zack, Burlin and Jake Luttrell, Mrs. Levona Emerson, Mrs. Lena Thomas, Mrs. Polly Chadwell, Mrs. Feb Parish and Mrs. Eva Morgan, thirty-nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two brothers, four half-brothers and two half-sisters.

Mr. Luttrell was a member of the Baldock Chapel Christian Church.

Rev. Orlando Rodgers conducted the funeral service and the Gosser-Smith Funeral Home had charge of interment in the South Fork Cemetery on Jan. 3rd.
