Biography

Nancy was born in April 1834 in either Tennessee or Alabama. She was the daughter of Colbert Luttrell and Violet Childers. She passed away in February 1913 in Hardeman County, Tennessee and is buried in Luttrell Cemetery, Middleton, Hardeman County.^[1]

Nancy married William L Hudson on 13 July 1853 (license issued 11 July 1853) in Hardeman County, Tennessee.^[2]

Birth

Various records which record Nancy's birth year disagree. The 1850 census gives a birth year of 1834, the 1860 census has 1837. Due to an error in the census takers recording of information and also a transcription error on familysearch.org, the 1900 census gives her birth year as 1846. Her grave marker has April 1834. Since this agrees with the earliest census, 1850, it will be assumed 1834 is correct.
