Thank you for your attention to detail. I have information passed down through the generations that I’m using to contribute. John Glamis Lyon, is also known as our Gateway ancestor to Janet Douglas, Lady Glamis. I entered information in that direct path accidentally creating a duplicate.
I am not yet a “trusted member” of the Lyon branch as I am new to Wiki. Therefore, I cannot merge the two together. However, I made the necessary proposal to the managers of the group. My apologies.
I am an Administrator for the Clan McAllister of America and the current custodian to many Kirley-Wightman-Webster-McAllister-Holstein original genealogical documents, for these families. Lyon is a part of our lineage. I’m happy to share information, if possible, with other family members, whom share the same passion for history.
If possible, is it okay to mention in the Bio that John Lyon’s middle name is a reminder of Scotland, and his direct male line ancestor, Lady Glamis? This way our branches will know for certain they have discovered their gateway ancestor.
thanks so much for the offer of help. I am very new to wiki tree also. In fact I am new to genealogy in general. I have been following Glamis Lyon because I may be related, but only based on GEDMatches that I have seen. I am still looking for the connection and there may not be one, because my connections look to be from Northern Ireland and not Scotland. My most distant proved surname ancestor is John J. Lyon(Lyon-5870) and he was listed as having parents from Ireland, but no names. Also, my DNA Y Haplogroup matches Northern Ireland and the area that John was born, Carlisle, PA has many Irish immigrants at that time.
So I don't really have an answer to your question regarding John Lyon's Bio. I would ask one of the admins or the owner of the profile?
Lyon-6256 and Lyon-485 appear to represent the same person because: John Glamis Lyon is a “remembered” ancestor in our family tree for May generations as our Gateway Ancestor to Janet Douglas Lady Glamis. I accidentally created a duplicate.
