The MacCarthy family arrive in New Zealand prior to 1921, as the eldest son William gets married in NZ in 1921. They arrive into Wellington in 1912 on the ship Remuera shown as: Mr R MacCarthy farmer Ireland, Mrs MacCarthy, Master W, Master E, Master R, Miss A, Miss M, Miss L all shown in the children category 1-12 years [3].
