Dell (Marsh) Manitou is a part of US Black heritage.

Dell, daughter of daughter of George W. Marsh and Mary Catherine Goens,^[1] was born 28 March 1864 in Jefferson County, Virginia^[1] (now in West Virginia).

Residence (1880) Pleasanton, Manistee, Michigan George (age 45, farmer, b. Virginia) and Mary Marsh (39, b. Virginia), Ardella (16, b. Virginia), Sarah M. (13, b. Ohio), Cora (10), John W. (9), Mathew (8), Clara (6), George W. (3), Hattie (2) and Warner Marsh (one month).^[3] Cora and all younger children were born in Michigan.^[3]

About 1884^[4] she married John Manitou with whom she had ten children (seven living at the time of her death):

Della (age 39), daughter of George Morsh & May Gomer, died 3 February 1904 in Cedar, Solon Township, at age 39 from complications in childbirth (puerperal fever).^[1][6]

Her remains were interred 6 February 1904 in the family plot at Pleasanton Township Cemetery in Pleasanton.^[1][7]
