NOTE: This James Martin, who died in Halifax Co, VA in 1811, did not marry Ann Oglesby. Ann Oglesby married James Martin whose estate was settled in Columbia County, Georgia in 1826.
Biography
James Martin, Sr., made his will on 30 May 1811 in Halifax County, Virginia. In his will, he mentioned his “two daughters Ann Martin and Polley Hancock,” his son William Martin, “Martin Woosley son of my daughter Sally Woosley decd,” Thomas Woosley and Salley Woosley son and daughter to my daughter Elizabeth Woosley decd,” and his sons “Zachariah Martin, Moses Martin, James Martin, Obadiah Marin, Abraham Martin, and Levi Martin.” He did not mention his wife who, presumably, predeceased him. His will was proved 22 July 1811.[1]

Polly Martin who married a Hancock
