Clem was born in 1919. He was the son of Leonard Maskery and Harriet Coley.
His parents divorced and his mother was killed in a plane crash in Sydney, Australia in 1937.
When the 2nd World War broke out Clem was single and working as a Carpenter. He served as a Private with the Infantry Reinforcements, Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force, Third Echelon. His next of kin was recorded as Mr. Leonard Maskery, 15 Jickell St., Palmerston North (his father). Service No: 40163
He returned from the War.
Clem married Margaret Mary Pedersen. They had three children.
In the 1946 NZ Electoral Rolls he was living at 49 College Street, Palmerston North and working as a Carpenter.
By 1972 he and Margaret were living at 9 Ajax Place, Palmerston North. He was retired.
He passed away in 1987 at the age of 67 and was cremated.
