Biography

Rebecca on September 24, 1770. She was the daughter of George Mathews (Governor of Georgia) and Anne Paul.

In 1786, Rebecca married Thomas Meriwether.

Rebecca passed away on July 21, 1825. She was interred at Jordan Cemetery.[1]

  • FAG note: "Rebecca Mathews, the daughter of Governor Mathews of Georgia, [was] a woman remarkable for her firm integrity, energetic temper and admirable virtues. Her father was twice Governor of Georgia, and also served in Congress."
